Korean LNG Bunkering Co.Ltd
is a 100% wholly-owned subsidiary of Korea Gas Corporation, established to conduct the “Clean Marine Fuel Business(LNG Bunkering Business)” which is to provide LNG, the clean fuel as marine fuel by an Urban Gas Business Act.


The major business of Korea LNG Bunkering Co.Ltd is to provide LNG bunkering services to marine customers by importing LNG from overseas,renting LNG manufacturing facility from KOGAS, and building LNG bunker vessels.

Why the LNG as Marine Fuel?

LNG is the most appropriate alternative responding to the IMO Environmental Regulation*.

*IMO Environmental Regulation : The regulation established by the IMO to limit the amount of sulphur permitted in commercial vessel fuel to 0.5% for vessels operating worldwide since January 1, 2020.

    which is about 50%
    more expensive than
    currently used HFO.
  • 02 Use the HFO
    and install
    the scrubber,
    the desulfurizer.

  • Eco-friendliness of LNG : emits 99% less PM, 99% less SOx, 40~70% less NOx, 25% less CO₂
  • Plan 1 and 2 is for short term
    • LNG can also come into effect for not only the current regulation, but also when the regulation is enhanced* to regulate the marine green gas(CO2) based on IMO 2050* *Plan ① and ② cannot react to the enhanced regulation of IMO.
    • Along with the gradual regulation enhancement of IMO(carbon emission*) and the increase of bar port entry to vessels with scrubber in global market,it is highly likely to choose LNG,the ecofriendly fuel. *IMO plans to consistently enhance the carbon emission regulation in the future.
